GAIR APPOINTED CEO

Benjamin A. Gair, III, a 15 year employee who most recently served as Executive Director of the Meals on Wheels Foundation, was named Chief Executive Officer of the Agency and Foundation.

Gair replaces Richard J. Gehring who retired after 30 years of service as President of Meals On Wheels for Western New York.

Since 1969, Meals on Wheels for Western New York, formerly Meals on Wheels of Buffalo & Erie County, has been delivering food and friendship to those who cannot do so for themselves.

Monday through Friday, hundreds of volunteers deliver a hot midday meal and a cold supper to thousands of elderly and disabled individuals.

On an annual basis, Meals on Wheels for WNY, the area's largest meal-delivery agency, serves about 840,000 meals to local residents.  Impressive, sure, but numbers alone can't tell the whole story. 

Our volunteers deliver more than warm meals, they deliver warm smiles.  The cheerful greeting, the "how are you today?," these are the things that make our program stand out in the minds of the more than 3,200 Western New York residents we serve each year.
